I'm also aware that Anand has a more nuanced view on how to move forward. Problem is I'm not sure the politicians do as a collective. They're still holding onto the empty slogans and seemingly easy answers that come with significant unintended consequences

Sorry, I understand that. You're right about empty slogans. They are incredibly effective in campaigning, but need substance behind them to be truly credible and be able to deliver against

but that doesn't mean undoing all the other trade deals by jumping back into the Single Market. Again I still believe the long term direction of the global economy is in the east so we need to find a balance and a transitional position.

I still maintain the decision itself wasn't the problem, it was the 2-year paralysis in Parliament that was key. The leavers fled the scene straight after & then were playing catch-up and the die-hard remainers were trying to undo everything. A more pragmatic position was needed then (and now)

That's a reason to delay commencement of the Act, not to stop in entirely. Unless there is no plan to end the 'postcode lottery'?

I still tweet messages. I don't know what the verb became on X. Do we now bluesky messages? Or just post? #anthimeria ππ» Google it (another example of anthimeria)

I'm going to have to stare at this glaring error for my entire stay in Coventry (or turn the telly off, or speak to reception, but then I wouldn't be posting about either of those courses of action). #passiveagressive

Fine to have that opinion. Still gets you on the wrong train though.

Surely @thenewsagents.com the biggest concern about the Allison Pearson case is that the police didn't actually tell her what she'd said rather than the content of what she may have said?

Bars and clubs need to do more to ensure that #AskForAngela is a strong brand with well trained bar staff ready to respond. That'll instil confidence and get people out. But politicians need to encourage and work with bars, not distance themselves whilst wagging a finger

Important story for Londoners . It's not enough for ministerial spokesmen to brush #AskForAngela off as not being a govt scheme. Neither should the Mayor chastise bars. London nightlife is fragile and too many women already feel unsafe... www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Clearly still trusted to the same level as a politician π€¦π»ββοΈ. American guy asking about heading to Ealing Broadway still hopped on a Circle Lane train after I told him twice to wait & get this Wimbledon train and change at Earl's Court (rail would have been quicker obvs) #TubeNerd
