Did like the way Curtis immediately cut in when the spectacular landslide was inevitably mentioned.

There’s a total of Β£49,255,200 changing hands in this network, although since Labour Together gives & receives donations, this double counts. So taking net for Labour Together there’s Β£47,631,589.

Network doesn’t necessarily identify most significant individual donors, because you could give a very large donation to Labour Together, but no other org/person in the network, and not feature. But imo is a good way of identifying networks of donors & politicians/political orgs.

Then I stripped away the network so it includes only peoples or orgs that have given or received a donation to/from two people or orgs in the network which have also given or received a donation to/from two people or orgs (this is called K-Core Decomposition).

This network was produced by identifying any β€˜regulated entity’ Labour Together has donated to, all of Labour Together’s donors, as well as any other β€˜regulated entity’ they have donated to, summing the repeat donations.

Thanks to Paul Holden’s β€˜The Fraud’, the Labour Right’s vehicle Labour Together is in the spotlight again. Here’s the core of its funding network constructed from Electoral Commission data. Donors blue, β€˜donees’ red.

None of us are safe in a world where basic norms in respect of the sanctity of human life are blithely disregarded. Those norms must be enforced, and enforced visibly. There must be political and legal consequences for every politician who made the genocide possible. The alternative is unthinkable.

This sweeping discussion is focused on the US, but there's so much that's directly relevant to the UK's dysfunctional political economy. Covers so much ill have to listen twice I think.

It was so clear to so many of us - ignored or ridiculed - the disastrous path we were on since 2008 (at the earliest). And here we are. We've arrived at our destination.

Still funny to me that academics have to organise 'retreats' to find time to write anything.

Nigel Farage is the biggest charlatan in British political history.

And here's what his constitutents in Clacton really think:

We now go live to our Westminster correspondent who will explain with inordinate enthusiasm why keeping all the same people but changing their roles is in fact extremely interesting & important.

One of the things I enjoy the most in life is producing a highly detailed Gantt chart for a project that will never be funded.

Yeah it's a weak position and I'm agreeing with David. My point though is this has much closer to how terrorism is defined in practice than the myriad of academic definitions. Imo it's an inherently propagandists term anyway.

13.08.2025 09:37 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Quite. But if you understand terrorism as political actions - violent or peaceful - that threaten or disrupt the geopolitical interests of states, then it makes more sense.

In a new article in @poppublicsphere.bsky.social I propose an institution reform to make representative government less oligarchic: having elected politicians held accountable by randomly selected "Constituency Juries"
