I had the fortune to hear #Cynthia_Erivo at a leadership event last night. She is both an artist and intellectual. A few ideas she shared:
--The things that make you you are frequently subject to being eroded
--Be open to change, but hold on to yourself.
Also there was Colorado Gov. #Jared_Polis.

After pardons, J6ers take up a new cause: Prison reform Jan. 6 defendants across the country are now advocating for improved conditions and rights for those who are incarcerated.

I was quoted in this Washington Post article about some of the January 6 convicts who now seek prison reform. Though I quoted the late Professor Derrick Bell profusely on the topic of interest convergence, it didn't make the cut. Nonetheless the sentiment is there.

Indeed; "enjoy" the image in the sense of appreciation for the author's rendering. Relatedly, much of my work around human bondage gives me a feeling of mournful interest in the need to make the information more known.

I also thought you might enjoy the drawing I commissioned for the chapter. It is titled "Transport", original is ink on paper, 12” x 16”, by Susan Natasha Gonzalez, 2017.

I'm much enjoying your posts on property, one of the areas I taught for many years. I'm especially happy to seeing engagement with transatlantic slavery. Attached is info on work of mine you may find of interest re the relationship between people as property, ships' ballast, and international law.

As I discussed in _The Princeton Fugitive Slave_, when Woodrow Wilson was president of Princeton in 1907, he oversaw the mass firing of Black workers. As U.S. president in 1913 he signed executive orders segregating federal buildings, and most Black people were phased out of the civil service.

Agreed; and I have some real concerns about potential bias when you're advertising something in those spaces, so much so that I recently took down some ads that I had there in order to look for more anonymous spaces in which to advertise.

Heading to #AALS. I can't believe it's been 25 years since my first annual meeting while on the TT. At that meeting I got to meet and briefly speak with then attorney general Janet Reno. Who all is going to be at this year's meeting?
