Hope this series does for water what the Post Office drama did for Horizon victims.
The scandal of privatised water is even bigger because it affects everyone.
The common theme is clear: powerful corporate entities are exploiting us all.
Time to bring water back into public ownership.

Totally agree. Feels like something the Electoral Commission needs to look at (and this is where the stripping of the EC of its independence really matters. The Tories really politicised the EC in very damaging ways)

Paul Conroy — a brilliant photojournalist who documented wars & human chaos for decades — has passed away. He was injured in the same attack in Homs that killed Marie Colvin & he just carried on travelling to conflict zones.
May he rest in peace.
Wow. Josh Simons has resigned as govt minister

Very clear that for Starmer, 'sectarian voting' is when British Muslims don't vote Labour, and for many others, it is just when British Muslims vote.

Struck by how Hannah Spencer's brilliant victory speech is a broadside against neoliberal meritocracy – like so many other (esp. female working-class) voices right now. This is exactly what Bev Skeggs & I discuss in our new article, 'Social Mobility is a Joke':

Stunning and historic result in the Gordon and Denton parliamentary by-election in the UK.
The anti-genocide Green Party led by Zack Polanski has won the seat from Keir Starmer's governing Labour Party.
Nigel Farage's Reform UK and its odious candidate Matt Goodwin beaten.
People don’t vote for candidates they fear will ruin their lives and indeed, they will actively try to stop those candidates getting elected, film at 11.

A few billionaires, corporations & opaque networks now dominate UK political funding.
Unless the new Elections Bill is strengthened, our democracy will remain at risk of corruption by the super rich.

This day started as the day of remembrance for me.
Remembering those who died during this damned war. My friends and people I knew are among them.
I often think about them and will never forget them.
The faces of murdered and tortured Ukrainians whom I didn't personally know but wrote about
