If the precedents of the court of chivalry have any forceful wider precedent then Cornwall is considered a different country from England properly speaking even if not administratively.

I read it as a neo-Hellenistic epithet that is used for all members of the profession. There is no other way to satisfyingly rationalise it.

Although I am given to understand there are some obscure areas of practice where the Green book still in effect is authoritative and useful. I defer to another for specific examples.

Today, I learned that the word culprit, is a court secretary elision of 17th C. Anglo-Norman of what prosecutors would say when introducing the crowns case.

“Culpable prest d'averrer notre bille”
“You are guilty, we are ready to prove our case.” = Cul. Prit.
