Really disappointed to see an Idaho news outlet post the Moscow homicide crime scene photos. I don’t really have much else to say besides how upsetting it is to witness

I love new experiences! For example, getting catcalled repeatedly while riding my bike through a busy intersection by a guy who “just wants to ask me a question.”

yes unfortunately but it was very interesting to watch a like 15+ part video series where everyone started out being like “omg girl that’s a nightmare so sorry that happened to you” and then slowly as she pulled out her “proof” of professional emails and Ai validation being like “oh no that’s not…l

Going to use my vacation day today to catch up on laundry and finally do some art! I’m feeling creative rather than just despondent for the first time in a while

Idk if you’re on the bonkers “my psychiatrist breadcrumbed me” discourse on tiktok but the real villain is obvi this woman’s AI who she named Henry, who is validating all of her feelings, even when those feelings are that a completely professional email is grooming

All 9 Spokane protesters plead not guilty to federal charges – RANGE Media The June 11 ICE protesters arrested in a US Marshal sweep will face a jury trial. 7 were released Tuesday; 2 will be held in custody until at least Friday.

@valerieosier.bsky.social and I could only find one other example - besides Spokane - of anti-ICE protesters facing federal charges for solely nonviolent offenses like “incitement.” David Huerta of LA. And Spo had 9 people arrested for protesting ICE.

It makes me sad and angry to see national news writing off Idaho (and Spokane, too, with all this Sydney Sweeney stuff) as white nationalist hellholes. There’s plenty of that, sure. But there are also so many people fighting here to make a difference.

Queer Idaho: “This is my home too.” – RANGE Media At least 48,000 queer people call Idaho their home even as the state legislature ramps up the passage of policies targeting queer Idahoans.

I didn’t always feel safe being queer in Idaho. I didn’t come out until I went to college in WA. I’ve still not felt comfortable bringing a girlfriend home. But there are so many queer people who call it their home. “Why should I have to leave?” one told me when I interviewed them for this story:

I grew up in Idaho. My parents are public school teachers in Idaho. Last week, my mother sent me a note that made me cry, telling me I’m doing good work and if I get arrested for doing my job, she’ll bail me out.

"The youngest people arrested in Idaho were a 6-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, both from Peru. The two children were arrested at the same time as a 33-year-old woman on Jan. 28 in the Twin Falls area. There is no record showing the woman and children were detained"

The goals and/or purpose for this event is to foster an open & honest dialogue about the Spokane Community/Police Relationship at this moment in time, with the hopes that this could start a more collaborative process between all “parties & stakeholders” together working on “Re-imagining Public Safety in Spokane”. The SHRC’s hope with this “Courageous Conversation” series is that the Spokane community will benefit greatly & gain a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding Police “Use-Of-Force” and “Use-Of-Force-Fatalities” by hearing from all impacted-stakeholders. Therefore, the SHRC is committed to “enhancing” the community-dialogue on these matters. These dialogues are focused on the fact that there is a humanity behind these very numbers & statistics on “Use-Of-Force-Fatalities” –as well as the impact that those fatalities have had on all our human-family. Due to the serious nature of these matters, these are the following guidelines for all participants of the “Courageous Conversation” series events: Listen from the Heart, which means to listen in an open and non-judgmental way; Speak from the Heart, which means we speak our truth, we speak honestly and with respect; and Utilize empathy from the Heart, so that we are guided by compassion and not our Ego’s in these “Courageous Conversations”.

By attending library programs, you are agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations that may be used in promotional materials including social media.

We strive to make events welcoming for people of all abilities. To request accommodations (i.e. hearing assistance, ASL requests, or other ADA inquiries), email sday@spokanelibrary.org.

Anyone know if Natalie or Rachel are still kicking around Spokane?

I’d love to talk to them at length about KEZE Rock 106. I was partial to KZZU the Zoo, myself, but respect.
