A Labor Day reminder: today there isn't a single city, metro area, or state in the U.S. where a full-time minimum-wage worker can afford a modest 2-bedroom apartment.

Millions of people with jobs—even multiple jobs—aren't safe from homelessness in this country.

I keep wanting to make a video talking about being in community from the perspective of a serious introvert and someone who has a lot of trust issues because of negative experiences. We all need to find what works for us. But man, I don't trust yet.

Why is it that this country always has endless money for war but not for housing? Bombs but not books? Missiles but not Medicaid? Our priorities are not just backward — they're being driven by wealthy war hawks hellbent on padding their pockets.

I say upcycled them into homes for unhoused people or something. Make them useful. Obviously not as vehicles, because they can't even do that right either.

I've always felt there was a reason my birthday is Earth Day. 🌎 My love of nature has been lifelong. As a fashion designer, my focus has become sustainability and intersectionality. I think I finally found my ultimate life project.

Finding more very directly local actions and marches has been very rewarding. The possibility of creating support and change around your home can keep you motivated and inspired.

An old man walked up to me today because he liked my sign about trans rights are human rights. He said my sign definitely deserved "love bucks", handed me this and said my sign was important, "it just makes sense." I teared up because it was so simple.

Lately I've been resetting my nervous system between news with YouTube videos of this Japanese woman quietly, peacefully cooking beautiful meals. So glad it's getting warmer too so walks will be an option too. Gotta get those regular breathers.

It's a scary time to be trans, but I still wouldn't trade it for the world. I don't wish I was cis. I gained so much wisdom by taking the scenic route to my gender. Bigots hate us because our knowledge is power, and they can only thrive in ignorance.

I've been reflecting on what it has been like to come out as trans in the last year. As stressed and sometimes scared as I have been, I'm so thankful that I did. In many ways it has helped fuel me towards connecting to others. And I have no doubt that this journey saved my life.

Was an assistant teacher today for a trans and queer self defense class. I don't think I'm a natural educator, but it was so rewarding to help empower trans and queer people find their voice and take up space.

I made this the other night while procrastinating, mainly because I thought all the posts about the blackout were boring. It feels like there is momentum bringing people together!

I'm glad that people are finally recognizing the billionaires for the grifters they really are. Their success is measured by levels of greed and selfishness. Not to mention the amount of people they can exploit.

Ugh. Just saw a valid reason to stay on Instagram/Meta: moving to other platforms means creating echo chambers for everyone. And lack of sharing important info to people not leaving. I hate it...but it makes sense. Not to say everyone has to stay on it, but I get the idea for those who do.

Had an interview for a designer position with an HR person. When I asked about what the work environment was like for LGBTQ+ people, she essentially said she knew they existed in the company and that was about it. Real confidence builder. 🙄 "I'm not sure how you want me to answer this question."

Bodily autonomy means bodily autonomy. Full stop. Your body belongs to you and nobody else gets to decide what you do to it.

Have an abortion. Take HRT. Have sex for money. Have sex for free. Have no sex at all. Gain weight. Lose weight. Get a tattoo. What's right for you is your right.

I know there's a lot of posturing and purposeful chaos right now but...I just want to be angry. Even when most of me knows it won't necessarily help.
