I rode my bike 36 miles and saw so many people of all ages and activities enjoying the day. It was really cool to see so many folks savoring the day

Agreed. I like how many breweries are doing hop water, which makes a ton of business sense. I guess I get why more brewers aren’t doing na, but I’d love to see more options. Kinda related: I’d love to see more na on tap. Enjoying some Athletic at the Timbers match

I wonder if you could talk a local bottle shop into stocking it through their distributors. I’m also picky about IPAs and don’t love most of the NA IPAs out there. Fieldwork also does some great NAs if they distribute to you

A River Restoration in Oregon Gets Fast Results: The Salmon Swam Right Back

"By mid-October, a few dozen salmon had swum roughly 30 miles through Upper Klamath Lake and reached tributaries of the Klamath ... One year after the last of the dams came down, salmon are spreading throughout the uppermost reaches of the river."

Official anthropology ruling: you can use kinship terms in extended ways including for people who have no ties of marriage or ancestry. Real humans know this and do it. Some humans do it a lot more than others.

I hope it's helpful! Yes to both, and the approach you mentioned earlier about waiting a while before extending your generosity is something I've also worked on in therapy. It feels selfish! But it makes a lot of sense in that it exposes people who would otherwise take advantage of generosity.

This really resonates with me. I've struggled with that as well, especially the tension over personal boundaries. The book, Running on Empty, by Christine Musello, helped me understand a lot of my own patterns of behavior WRT self-abandonment and sacrificing my boundaries. It might help you too

Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

I am so proud of Portland right now. I keep saying we are having a renaissance & you can really see it in so many ways.

We just hosted folks from around the country at an energy conference & they were blown away by the political culture that is growing here.

We have a chance at something great.
