Me, dressed as a Viking, with a sword, in the bathroom mirror

Honestly so impressed with myself that I failed to get a proper photo done 🀦

Once upon a desert sandy
As through winds the trav'ling man he
Spied the face of Ozymandy
Lying, simply lying there
Suddenly there was some writing
Pon the plinth that he was sighting
That the sand and time were blighting
Quoth the statue, "Now despair"

I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.

This is an embarassingly weak retort. If this was the best I could come up with I would block the person I was thinking of sending it to and declare myself the winner.

Tell you what, unlike the VO interview, I'll let you have another try at doing something half decent. For free, no judgement.

Wild! I took mine on a flight this weekend and didn't notice anything like this. Long flights I prefer the Max for comfort though

This looks amazing, hoping it comes to consoles or mac one day so I can play!

Just a superb little slice of game; I cannot recommend it enough. Evocative, atmospheric and exactly long enough. It even does the proper folk horror thing of having weird stuff that's not *doing* anything but is there for the bad vibes. Love it.

Just heard back from her and she says you’re also a disappointing shag which is why she didn’t call you back either

sports are procgen narrative engines and it's absolute nerd shit to do the "its just chasing a ball" routine.

No shade to the OP, but this was the thing that annoyed me from the off about blaseball. It was just regular sports but with funny nouns. The weird manic unpredictable energy is already there in actual sport but folk refused to be interested because of some learned middle school nerd/jock dichotomy.

Tim Robinson character in the back: yeah and what if the whole cafe could be dracula themed

I love how planes can transport you to somewhere completely different. For example I got on a plane in grey, cold, rainy Edinburgh and just a short while later, I’m in Belfast where it is rainy, cold, and grey

We’re working on it! But it is very much an uphill struggle, and we have the mature startup issue of things being built on things that were built on things that were built… etc

I’ve not listened to Pattern Recognition in well over a decade. Maybe even fifteen years?

Books good. Didn’t realise how formative it was for me.

FWIW I think my employer is quite good at focusing on the former over the latter - at least from an internal perspective, and we have the advantage of being built for the UK market rather than localised to it, and being aimed at smaller businesses first.

This is a large part of the issue! I actually work on exactly that type of software and there are so many different types of needs from accounting companies to sole traders that we’re addressing a lot of different requirements that don’t always pull in the same direction

Rabbit Trap (2025) When a musician and her husband move to a remote house in Wales, the music they make disturbs local ancient folk magic, bringing a nameless child to their door who is intent on infiltrating their live...

Watched Rabbit Trap last night; slow burn sinister Welsh psychological/folk horror about the Tylwyth Teg. Really enjoyable film in which everyone involved got exactly what they wanted, which is always nice, isn’t it??
