Last night I hosted a sweet locals session out of my garage and then after cleaning up I read one of the worst fighting game takes in recent memory, so here's my attempt to upcycle it.

Because once the train leaves the station (hopefully with your guys on it), it turns into a reverse bullet hell, and your choices in the tactics layer will affect this mode. I kinda like this because some tactics games can start to feel very deterministic, and this introduces a little bit of chaos.

Also enjoying Australia Did It by @ramiismail.com. Nice art, and it has a turn based tactics layer where you combine guys to make other guys. It's fun to try and find all the different combos, and combining also helps you pull of certain plays because it refreshes your moves. But there's more..

Next Fest definitely has a lot of AI slop. Damn. Well, it does make it easy to filter out the chaff.

On the positive side, my favorite game so far might be Titanium Court. Fascinating mix of match-3, strategy, and.. well, lots of other stuff? Great art style too.

Golfaria (UFO 50) is kinda interesting. It's an open world golf game, maybe a "golf metroidvana"? You explore for secrets and power ups until you hit the stroke limit, which goes up as you find stuff. At first you're pretty constrained but the world eventually opens up.

I bounced off "Block Panda" (UFO 50) at first but it's actually a pretty interesting (and fiendishly hard) Sokoban-style puzzle game. Mercifully it also has an "undo" function..
