I want to thank... everyone? Can I do that? Yeah, I want to thank literally everyone who wrote in 2025. Thank you for contributing to the ecosystem of good writing about games. We literally could not do this without you and we're so stoked y'all are here, doing good work, year in and year out.

I read so many articles. It was so hard to pick the ones I did, because I could've kept going forever. That's part of why the roundup is late—I had to dig myself out of the avalanche of bangers and finally put a hard stop on things.

I made my life easier by creating/keeping up w/ a database of everything included in the roundups, first in a spreadsheet and then in Obsidian. I came up with a neat system that categorized posts by subject/game, author, outlet and roundup date, but ofc it still comes down to reading and choosing.

Postmortem from Kaile: This year was maybe the most difficult roundup I've had to write out of the three I've been in charge of. Between the weekly roundups and the submissions y'all sent us earlier this month we had almost a THOUSAND articles to choose from.
