Voting should be like jury duty.

You can't just skip it because you don't feel like participating.

If voting were mandatory, people MIGHT be incentivized to look into how their country actually works.

I'd be more shocked if it wasn't. Even a shitty con man like Trump can pull off any scam he chooses in a society that requires warning labels on laundry detergent that say "DO NOT EAT".
