I don’t think ppl understand the whole “who cares if nobody likes it! make content for yourself” is extremely dismissive
Bc we ARE making the content for ourselves but it feels /bad/ when people don’t engage or show interest. You can care about both at the same time

Don’t like having to come here & ask, but… My cat who we’d rescued a while ago (Bast) developed pyometra before we could spay, & has to go in for urgent surgery that comes out to $1.1k range

Some advice to artists that struggle to finish any WIPs:

If finishing a full WIP is very difficult for you, I recommend setting small goals within each artwork you do

Like for example, instead of trying to do everything in one sitting; make a goal like “Okay I’ll just do half the lineart today”

The year has been really taxing in a lot if ways, I suppose, & its gotten hard to stay afloat
& sort of ended up withdrawing further into myself for my own sake (& still kinda am)

I should note also that in the wake of all this I’ll be considering promoting commissions again soon or my ko-fi (esp as it has a monthly donation thing in case anyone ever wanted to just offer support just cause)

Esp bc I do intend to one day leave where I am for the better.
