Being vegan I’ve found myself saying, “I can’t have that” or “I won’t have that.” Gonna to stop this. “I can’t have that” is a lie. I can but won’t. “I won’t have that.” sounds dismissive and pejorative. So I’ve started saying, “Thanks, but that’s not for me.” It’s polite.

The first party I went to was in college. It was in a big empty warehouse under an overpass. Nothing but a DJ, speakers, a HUGE dance floor and water. Candles light the path to the entryway. Needless to say it was AWESOME. And so started that part of my life I miss the 90’s.
