“Oh, I don’t like this,” Sita says, taking Colin’s offered arm as they follow the group to the kitchen. “Now one of the girls is going home soon.” Which is news to him. He thought he’d absorbed enough about the show via the TikToks Daph sent him, but apparently not. “Nah,” he says, carefully navigating them around a bean bag chair. “Just throw a wig on Hugh and we’re golden.” Sita titters at that. “It’s not even been twenty-four hours and I already know the Villa wouldn’t be the same without him,” she says, tapping his forearm with her nails. She’s not wrong. Hugh’s a ball of sunshine and a protein shake rolled into one with that specific brand of cheesiness that still manages to read as charming. He’s got that coveted golden retriever energy that Pen was always writing about, or at least Colin thinks so. “Agreed 100%,” he says. “Is it too early to make a suicide pact? If Hugh goes, we all go.” Colin can’t help but whip his head around when he hears Penelope’s tinkling laugh, thinking she’d heard him. Her chin is tipped back rather theatrically, tickled by something Alfred must’ve said, which is…difficult to picture. The guy looks like human pampas grass.
