If the perspective is “give us our nature back” without it being intersectional (cross-border, rooted in global anti-capitalism) it kinda misses the point no?

I think it’d be great if we could achieve rewilding in Ireland while also bringing dairy farmers and meat eaters with us on a journey of shifting diets.

Big rewilding advocate, just curious about how best to make it intersectional.

I was thinking maybe you’d have some pointers on any intersectional activists or groupings pushing this across borders, or other science based solutions that look at how we achieve the other system changes that are needed to support rewilding. The obvious one being reducing red meat consumption.

I mean, it’s not rubbish, it’s a scientific study based on fact. Sorry I realise it’s behind a paywall but the evidence suggests it is happening. I think the question is how do we achieve effective re-wilding? As a genuine advocate of rewilding, I’m honestly curious about we can achieve that.

This is an opportunity to do things properly. Instead of wasting millions on this samed failed model and waiting for the next, stronger storm, to destroy them all again; it's time to rewild public land!

If you didn't hear, we've had the hottest January since records began!! Irish government response: let's burn diesel. Unbelievable.

We wouldn't need to burn millions of litres of diesel.

And now imagine if we made any effort to make electric cars mainstream. Everyone would have a massive battery in their front garden if the electricity does go.

We'd then need to transport millions of litres of diesel all over damaged roads *during storms!*

It's idiotic! Imagine for a second if we just did what the energy experts say and decentralised the grid, with tons of local and solar renewable energy. Guess what, the whole system wouldn't collapse!

Government minister on @drivetime.bsky.social saying that we should equip every sports club with a generator for future storms. It would be funny if wasn't coming from someone who should know better.

So the idea is, for future storms will use diesel generators (1'000s of them).
