do what makes you happy Martyn, I know you have no problems getting out into the real world and finding interesting stories. There's some limitations with this platform but, imo it's better than the other social media sites that exist only to extract data and push commercials.

In Southern Oregon, teens get their hands dirty and get paid to learn about the forest The Lomakatsi Youth Ecological Forestry Training and Employment Program gives high school students hands-on experience in ecological restoration. Despite federal funding challenges, the program has thrived this year.

The program, which launched in 2012, teaches ecological restoration, forestry, botany and more — all while paying students to work in the field.

I don't think there's any block lists or anything like that here. It's not as algorithm driven, so folks may just not be seeing your posts.
The wildlife trail cam community here has lots of good interactions I have noticed.

I put a hashtag for ecology and wildlife in my profile and got added to one of those group lists. So I have lots of followers interested in Ecology but not tons of interaction necessarily. But I haven't been using the site a lot. When I like and reply to others I get some clicks. All that said...
