Hey just a note, all but one of those lists are based on the number of accounts being followed, not how many followers they have.

If that’s truly the threshold you want, not as useful for you (but I do take feature requests)

I use the Over5K modlist as a blocklist on my main account and I find it leads to a broken thread I care about like maybe once a month.

It does lead to confusion on the part of people who get blocked sometimes

Charlie Jane was the reason the Unverified list was updated to account for Bluesky verification, and should be off the list now

The coding involved was much easier than I expected, and this should be done. Clearsky is being about Charlie Jane's account, so having a bit trouble verifying removal.

The algorithm for the Unverified* lists has changed slightly, they now will also remove users who are Bluesky verified (have a blue check) even if they don't have a custom domain.

Please DM this account if this situation applies to you and you don't see your account removed.

I will added blue check verification to the screening process for those modlists as well, but it will require some coding (probably not a ton) and so I can't commit to it being done in a particular period. I'll try to find time for it before the end of the week.

Hi! I responded to your DM, but for others who might be interested: the "verification" part of the Unverified modlists hosted by this account check for the older domain verification system (explainer at bsky.social/about/blog/4... ).

Worth a note that, unfortunately, blocking doesn’t remove a user from your followers. Just the design of Bluesky’s data model.

Verified account followers with domain handles is pretty easy, can you think of a way to algorithmically determine brand accounts? I’m not opposed to the idea, it just needs to be something I can code

Yes, I use the Over5K modlist as a blocklist on my main account. I try not to block anyone on this account that hosts the lists, so that I can get feedback on false positives or similar.

It's totally fine to follow anyone you want to. The modlists hosted by this account are for people who prefer to not interact with accounts that follow a large number of accounts.

These lists are unofficial and anyone choosing to use them does so voluntarily and with intent.

I see where I failed my comprehension check back there, apologies. ClearSky says you're not longer on any lists hosted by this account, but if you see otherwise please let me know.

Over time, others have found use in lists with higher thresholds. Some folks use the modlists to block, others mute. Many, many more people don't use these lists at all in any way.

You're free to follow whoever you want, truly, which is why the lists hosted on this account are in no way official, and by no means are universally used.

I created the Over5K list initially because *I* did not want to interact with high following accounts.

As skewer said, it should be about two hours but to be real the VM the bot runs on now regularly starts stuffing up with far too many profiles to query in its queue. If you (or anyone else) does not see removal happen in a timely manner please DM and I’ll restart the bot and it should clear sooner

I've heard requests for 2K lists in the past, and of course the source code is available if anyone wants to run a bot to do so, but the list size would be huge and I don't think the demand would justify a list with like 200k accounts

Over10K is a strict superset of UnverifiedOver10K, so you could mute Over10K with the same results, for what it's worth.

I don't know if there's another thread where meansven is debating Rah, but if by chance you were referring to me or my replies, I am absolutely not Rahaeli. She puts way way more work into her follow farming lists.

In case I didn't make it clear, I don't personally use a domain verified handle on Bluesky, despite owning several domains. There are users who find value in that signal - they requested I make the modlist - but I don't think it's very many.

Any user can get a domain for something like $7. I don't recommend doing it for the sole purpose of getting off the UnverifiedOver lists, because you would still be on the Over lists, and not very many people use the UnverifiedOver lists.

Very few people use the Unverified lists, far more use (for example) Over10K, so I don’t encourage people to do domain verification.
