Rightwing media falsely blame Ed Miliband for UK steel crisis, experts say Net zero and clean energy can actually help save the steel industry, experts point out

I've been a journalist for 25+ years and I'm not sure I've witnessed as much wilful (and v likely coordinated) disinformation from certain corners of the UK media than over past few days. Sun, Mail and Telegraph have been truly awful - and seemingly shameless

"In fact, not only does the market assessment
of the value of different forms of work not
correspond to popular conceptions of what
they actually contribute to society, but there
actually seems to be an inverse relation: with
few exceptions, the principle seems to be, the

more it is recognized as helping others, the less
one is likely to be paid for it."

Thanks for prompt response
I a little concerned your reply only refs to climate! & saying that the biosphere has 'survived much worse' - even with my laymans knowledge, I am fairly sure that that is not quite the case (if we include Rockström for eg)
But I accept your expertise, if squintily 😅 TY!

It also predicts human extinction in <150y

Just saying- planting native plants does not need to be hard. You don't need to entirely re-landscape your whole yard.

Figure out which milkweed is native to your area, and get some in the groud this spring. Water it, it'll be fine!

Here's a place to buy plants:

Look who came up the driveway this afternoon!!!! You've never seen me grab my camera so fast. Unfortunately, I had to shoot through a dirty window in low light, so it's a bit fuzzy. Still! Lynx!! In my yard!!! Look at those big fluffy paws! 🦊🌿

Before anyone says there's no money... When it comes to sure-fire investments like insulating homes with a guaranteed return, governments don't work like households.

It makes sense to run a deficit to generate a return—particularly since the consequences of not doing so are so bad.

Here's why:
