#OnThisDay 1996 : 30 years ago today, the UK's take on the US sitcom Married For Children was broadcast on ITV. Russ Abbot would take the lead role in Married For Life which would run for just one series.

#OnThisDay 2001 : 25 years ago today, Crossroads made a return to ITV with new episodes for the first time since 1988. It would be short lived as the soap would end in 2003.

#OnThisDay 1999 : The final News At Ten broadcast on ITV after its original 32 years run. It would be replaced with an early Evening bulletin at 6.30pm. However, it would return to its 10pm slot 3 years later.
