#OnThisDay 2002 : BBC Four launched in the UK. The new channel replaced BBC Knowledge. The opening night was also simulcasted on BBC Two.

#OnThisDay 1991: 35 years ago today, the monopoly on listings magazines had ended with the deregulation of TV listings. So for example Radio Times can now list ITV/Ch4 programmes and TV Times with the BBC's.
