✅ Second was Pakuranga Esplanade Reserve, which is the southern end of the Rotary Walkway (accessed via Tamaki Bay Drive). This will have no impact on its usage and helps protect it for future generations, so we approved the classification.
15/23
✅ Next we were asked to classify two reserves – a legal requirement for all reserves which council is working through the backlog. The first was 56R The Parade (often know as Grangers Point, Bucklands Beach) which needed to be done to allow a lease to be processed.
14/23
📑AT also asked for views on proposed changes to Accent Dr. Carries 17k vehicles a day & has congestion issues – AT proposing clearway along southern side during 3-7pm Mon to Fri.
Public consultation showed 74% agreed with the proposal and we supported the project.

✅ AT asked us to approve the delivery of Stanniland St pedestrian improvements project which had come back from public consultation.
43 responses had been received with 67% supporting Option 1 (closer to the corner of Whiteacres), which we approved for construction.

📄Chair Kendall tabled his Chairpersons Report. In previous term, we'd included members attendance (less workload and reports) but it appears we’re not doing this anymore. I’ll provide a separate report in future to provide transparency and accountability to the public.

Nice! Hope they got a good view. Was pretty chilly up here in Tāmaki
Makaurau Auckland too, but worth it.
Total lunar eclipse occurs when Earth moves directly between Sun & Moon, casting shadow across full face of Moon, turning it red (commonly known as a “Blood Moon”). Only occurs during a full moon, when the Sun, Earth, and Moon line up in near-perfect alignment — known astronomically as a syzygy.

🌑Last night we were lucky to experience a total lunar eclipse and Blood Moon. This is the only one for the year and we won't see another one until 2028.
I took this photo through my telescope in my backyard in Botany.
I've got more which I'll post once I've had time to review them properly.
Here are the timings from start to finish for tonights blood Moon thanks to @stardome-nz.bsky.social
The best time to see the blood Moon will be from midnight to 1am (New Zealand time), with the peak of the eclipse occuring just after 12:30am.
