It’s frustrating because *all* the power is with housing here and they will not move an inch in their belief that people can live in a damp, smells of literal shit and mold, falling apart house with no working facilities?

I mean, it’s also frustrating because everything about this is. But you know.

But then, this is part of what is making everything so uphill. Everyone who has seen the house in the weeks running up to the ceiling going knows how bad it was and how uninhabitable it was getting and said it’s not fit for humans but when the official record is like “it totally is!!” ??

The smell alone would knock out a fucking horse.

I don’t think it’s going to stop getting me that this is only a small portion of the damage to the house and it’s clearly completely fucked. And someone went “nah, it is cool, Rob and kids can live there“

Trying not to be in the pit of despair this morning but this one has me beat. The council insist returning three disabled folk to an unsafe home with no hot water, no bog or shower, no electricity in most rooms, damp and with a collapsed ceiling is fine actually has got me. Raising survival funds.

Having a small reserve bought us a few weeks in a travellodge when housing were dragging their heels on whether they had any legal obligations to even consider getting this far - which took being shouted at by child services in the end. It’s obviously not sustainable but everything Is buying time rn
