Francisco Alvarez just smacked a 439 foot homer over the batter's eye in center field. The Cardinals pitcher doesn't even have his last name on the back of his jersey but this is still impressive.

Jorge Polanco, right-handed, just homered to left center to give the Mets a 2-1 lead. He was struggling a bit this spring offensively but he's 2 for 2 so far today and suddenly has a .333 batting average. That'll work.

Holy crap did AJ Ewing turn on this pitch.

A Brett Baty RBI single to left scored Polanco to tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. Baty is hitting .455 this spring. He loves this time of year!

Meanwhile, Jonah Tong has been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse. There are now 63 players left in major league camp.

"We've been throwing a lot of catch play together, and it's not fun. Every time I go, I'm like, 'Yeah, I'll throw it with you,'" Mets starter Jonah Tong said with a pronounced sigh. "It's hard when he's working on new pitches and I'm just like, nooooo."
