The fact the he got hurt and it still lingers after years and years rattels at his sense of masculinity... My man has such a toxic view of what a man is supposed to be and is so insecure, he spirals when the injury is preventing him from functioning.

I prob talked about this before but hands down Bartek went through it. Aside a broken arm and the obvious slashes on his body; the time he got bitten by a vampire was by far the worst. The wound got infected and he almost lost that leg + it still hurts to this day and fucks with him mentally
