I found a pretty good lot with 56 games for my new Atari 2600+ on eBay

The games industry is awful right now. That's why I have been sticking with indies and retro games. But it's honestly a blessing for me with how the economy has gotten. And it has inspired me to pursue other activities I can pick up for free like learning to speak Cherokee or how to belly dance.

Got my Pac-Man Atari 2600+ yesterday and my son played it. He spent the whole time complaining about how stiff the joystick was, and to be fair he's absolutely right, but I told him that will pass with time. I know how those joysticks wear out over time.

I will clarify that I do recognize the objective good that social media presents, such as connecting everyone with the news the state coerced media won't report, but I think more objective bad has come from it overall, providing Nazis with echo chambers. Nothing good has come from generative AI.

Generative AI was a bigger mistake than social media.

Week 19: Down 2 pounds. Back to 272 for a net loss of 43. It's slow, but as long as it's forward progress, that's all that matters.

Week 18: Gained another 2 pounds. Guess I need to go back to only eating fish and eggs. Net loss 41 lbs, current weight 274 lbs.

I'm getting ready to enter my Game Boy Arc on YouTube. I have a shortlist and it's not very short.

That's what I was hoping for, but with the news that all the old tracks are in the new one, I feel like that's less likely to happen now

But is it $100 for a 20 year old game worth it? Lol

I never played the original. Would this nullify any reason to do so?

Week 17: As expected, I pigged out this week and paid the price. Not only the misery that overeating on Mounjaro causes but I also gained 4 pounds. I'm just ping ponging back and forth now. Net loss 43 lbs, current weight 272 lbs.

Got paid for the first time in a month and so I pigged out. I would be shocked if I don't gain weight at this week's weigh in.

I guess I scrubbed off enough identifying info to be able to share the proof. Not that people can't find out any info my DL has on it if they really want to.

Finally got that elusive F on my driver's license 🥳🎉

Week 16: Down 5 more pounds. Net loss: 47 lbs current weight: 268 lbs. Getting closer to my goal than has ever felt possible 🥰

Week 15: I gained 3 pounds. I don't understand why. I feel like I ate less than I have in months this past week. The human body is weird y'all. Net loss: 42 lbs. Current weight: 273.

Think I'm going to stream some more Archipelago in a little bit over on YouTube.

Week 14: I lost 5 pounds. Moved up to 7.5 on my Mounjaro. That leaves a net loss of 45 and my weight is currently at 270.

I wish very much that the economy wasn't absolutely in the toilet right now so that I could afford to outfit the rest of my multigenerational video game collection with custom game cases.

Just beat Zephyr's Pass. 6/10. It's a Zeldalike but the dungeons are all basic, the combat is basic, the exploration is basic, the music was basic, and it reeks of "this was made in GB Studio" type bugs. Graphics were nice though. I only rated it a 6 and not 2 is because I enjoyed it despite itself.

Today I did the Path of Pain and the Fool's Trial in Hollow Knight, bringing my completion up to 108%. All the remaining challenges lie in Godhome. But that is a problem for future me to worry about. My thumbs really hurts after 4 hours in the Path of Pain.

And the Path of Pain is done. Took me about 4 hours. That's only a few frames off the world record, right??

Week 13: I gained 4 lbs. I guess my caloric needs for healing has wound down and I need to cut back to how I was eating before the surgery. Net loss: 40 lbs. Current weight: 275 lbs. I won't let this setback get me down though, the journey continues.

Few games really enrapture me the way Hollow Knight did. Almost 50 hours in, 107%, got 3 of the endings and I'm not tired of it, in fact I'm chomping at the bit to play Silksong. I may not ever get the full 112% due to the skill requirement, but I loved the time I spent with it.

And that's the true ending. I know where my remaining 5% are and let me tell you, I definitely won't be getting more than 110%.

Team Cherry knew who their audience was when they had Hornet yell out "GIT GUD!!" right before you fight the true final boss in Hollow Knight.

Got the bad ending in Hollow Knight today. Somehow had over 100% completion
