From the reviewer's question, it seems to be for a niche application or atleast not conventional proteomics? Either way, access need not be investment limited ..core facilities come in handy here! Recently ours did nichePTM analysis upon client req 'with specific MS' as per their referred literature

Discovery and validation of biomarkers for Parkinson’s disease from human cerebrospinal fluid using mass spectrometry-based proteomics analysis These candidate biomarkers add to our understanding of PD pathophysiology and the relationship between PD and DLB. They provide further research directions toward disease-modifying therapies.

#TeamMassSpec Curious on the average recovery observed across labs for SP3 sample prep.. seeing about ~50-60% of input (cell lyates by BCA pep est.) and found the following from recent literature (on FFPE).

It is indeed a flex to show tight CVs ..all the more if it's by hard labour πŸ’ͺ🏾, and would be great to see diy reference video. Albeit cost upfront, automation helps, finished on an analysis that's been at a snail's pace, turns out all I needed was just a day away from the bench and the robot :)
