DAREDEVIL ANNUAL #8

DD gets caught up ina Deathlok crossover, some kid made a virus that is going wild on the internet? Stupid but DD fighting Bushwacker is a good pairing

The Fat Boys return in a short story.

DD gets some added power creep, implying he can touch a pile of ashes and asses what was burned.

DAREDEVIL #305 & #306 DD teams up with Spidey to stop The Surgeon General, black market organ trafficker.

Daredevil #304, a standalone story of DD just helping people. He stops a cop from shooting an innocent kid by putting his hand between the gun’s hammer and the firing pin. Ouch

Daredevil #302 & #303 continue the “owl is augmented into actually having Owl powers now story,” but with the twist that he’s a somewhat tragic villain now. Not sure the change really works for Leland but at least it’s something different!

Needed a break after an extended reading sprint but we’re back at it with, DAREDEVIL #301

D G Chichester’s run has begun and he hits the ground running.

Matt is going after Low level drug pushers just to remind them he can, only to be interrupted by a new mechanically augmented OWL!

I didn’t intend for my Daredevil tattoo to coindice with a milestone during my @everydaredevil.bsky.social read, but here we are.

Daredevil #300!!!!! Last Rites fully becomes the "Born Again" arc for Kingpin, throwing all subtlety out the window and seeing Fisk in front of a grand jury and made low. It's a fitting end to the story even if it doesn't fully put him at a low point, it's easy to see how he quickly becomes KP again

Daredevil #299. DD makes a deal with a federal prosecutor to take down fisk (and fully get Matt reinstated as a lawyer). The HYDRA element of Fisk's empire comes to collect, and Matt smiles as the empire begins to go up in flames.

Daredevil #298, DD's mission to take down Fisk takes a turn as he's kdinapped by SHIELD who inform him that HYDRA are the secret benefactors of Fisk's new media empire. They tell him to tread lightly, but he's DD, so...

Daredevil #297, DD sets his sights on finally taking fisk down and his first step is to remove Typhoid Mary from the equation. He uses his lustful powers to seduce her and to get her locker up in a psychiatric unit.

Daredevil #296. Stick’s Order of Ninjas make their return and team up with DD to face The Hand.

I remain convinced that DD needs a sword in his regular weapon rotation.

Daredevil #295. DD gets some help in his fight with The Hand via Ghost Rider. He drops off Johnny Blaze to the mission Sister Maggie works at afterward. The Hand have kidnapped powerful people to use as puppets in NYC, but DD is prepared to stop it.

Daredevil annual #7, cover by Mignola!!!

First is a Baron Von Strucker crossover, DD faces off against some of his escaped experiments.

Next, Ben Urich gets tricked and blackmailed by Kingpin.

Finally, the Fat Boys return in an anti-gun story.

Daredevil #294, The Hand are making moves in NY again. Matt reunites with Karen who implies that she went back to make porno after he skipped town, now she’s protesting it. Kingpin’s media empire begins to take off, and we get a backhanded reference to the TMNT again.

One of the scientists, who is also posing as a pirate radio DJ that everyone in NY likes, used the drugs on himself and developed the ability to read minds. This leads him to getting everyone in New York to form a human circle around Manhattan and sing, causing it to rain, ending the heat wave.

One more side quest, Marvel Comics Presents #69 through #72. Written by Sandy Plunkett with pencils by Dwayne Turner, it's about a secret corporation working on intelligence enhancing drugs, which they tested on feral dogs and which now roam the streets of NY.

One more stop in this series with Marvel Super-Heroes #4, members of NY's underworld conspire against the Kingpin, and their plan is a good one. They implant a bomb inside the body of the Kingpin's personal physician to try and kill him, DD learns of the plot and foils it.

Next stop, Marvel Super-Heroes #2. I'm not sure why I read this, DD appears in just one panel as the story follows a little boy whose dad died and who is afraid his mom is now on drugs. He goes to Matt for help but realizes she's not on drugs, she's just diabetic.

Realized I needed to make a brief sojourn to a few other titles before I dove deeper into the Chichester run. Starting with Elektra Lives Again, which feels like Frank Miller trying to have some sway over the clearly planned return of Elektra and The Hand. Great graphic novel!

Daredevil #293, the Taskmaster/Tombstone plot loosely ends with TM in the hospital (DD’s Billy club stopped the bus and he flew out the windshield). Kingpin’s investors for his media empire has a shadow influencer teased. The Hand make their return to the series.

Daredevil #292, the DG Chichester run starts on a high note with not only Taskmaster but The Punisher.

Also Foggy did all the hard work off page and got Matt his law license back. Somehow he managed to note that “someone” had framed Matt during the Born Again arc and untangle it without realizing it was Fisk lmao

It’s the end of the Nocenti run which has flourishes of greatness but is largely inconsistent. The extended tales of Matt away from New York are pretty weak but the last 8-10 issues plus the Typhoid Mary story arc are all-timers.

Daredevil #291, Kingpin makes moves to go legit, Including having his own media empire. Bullet and his nuke obsessed son make a return, but most importantly Matt and Foggy are finally reunited.

Daredevil #290. Maybe the best single issue of the Nocenti run. Daredevil and Bullseye face off for the first time in ages, but they’re wearing each other’s costumes. Foggy makes an appearance for the first time in years (publication wise), confirming that Gloriana has left.

Daredevil #289, Matt finds himself forced to confront a thrown fight, like his dad before him. It’s the final push he needs to remember who he is.

Daredevil #288, surprise, the “thief” that has been masquerading as DD was Bullseye this entire time. Matt’s amnesia recovery gets a boost thanks to dream visions of Stick and Elektra.
