Hot smoked salmon, with some cucumber and a dash of lemon.

There were definitely a few scuffles on the pitch, but calling it a 'battle' is a huge stretch.

They're entitled to ask a daft price, we're entitled to walk away.....or make them sweat into blinking first!

Nobody comes back with a counter offer unless they're really interested in selling. Looks to me like an open invite to the 'right' bid from elsewhere. Let's see who blinks first!

I've always held the view that we'd do most of our business nearer the end of the window. That how it is these days for most clubs.

If I had my way, the window would close before the start of the season.

The best thing about this window is that the club is running a tight comms ship and that some 'in the know' clearly no longer know, so are throwing names around like confetti. The club staff, like their counterparts, will be working their socks off and I'll judge them when the window has closed.

Definitely applies to many things in life. Particularly relevant in a conversation about running a large business that's been run badly for many years.

It's as if eight summers ago didn't happen....
