What happens when we encounter art while just going about our everyday life, walking through Vienna? 🎨 We tried to answer this question by looking at people looking at art in an observational study tracking naturally occurring interactions with art in our study area. 🕵‍♀️

Last week we went on a little lab retreat. We stayed at the beautiful Rudolfsvilla in Reichenau an der Rax. We had food prepared by our wonderful chefs Helmut, Jan, and Kirren. We discussed future career plans of our PhD students in the garden and around the fire. We all had a beautiful time ❤

Today we skipped our lab meeting and went to Foto Arsenal instead, a wonderful new museum for photography in Vienna's 3rd district.

New review! We provide an overview of the psychological processes that may be at play when #art viewing supports #wellbeing.

More testing of these ideas are needed so We provided new Receptive Art Reporting Guidelines to encourage more quality #research.

Last week we felt a bit down, so we went to the Albertina to see their current exhibition 'Matthew Wong -- Vincent van Gogh: Painting as a last resort'. While the lives if both artists may not have been the happiest, we for sure felt better after seeing their art.

While we sadly had to say goodbye to Eva in the EVAlabs, two new people will have the chance to say hello to her at her new lab in Tübingen @iwmtue.bsky.social
