And in case you're wondering, no, these will not be going up today. I'm waiting on a delivery of screws that I need to put these together, since I use all new self-tapping screws.

Just as I sold the last two SNES consoles yesterday, the next set of shells came in. Guess I am throwing up that last batch of two sooner than I thought!

Finally got this out of my system. I've always wanted a YPbPr modded SNES with RCA jacks, as that was one of the earliest mods I remember seeing when I was a teenager. Now I have it in both SNES and SFC!

Now enough screwing around, I got shit to film 😎

Apparently those orange buttons are actually brown, and it's the lighting that's making them look orange 🙃

They are. They're basically the majority of UN1 serial Super Nintendos, and S1 serial Super Famicoms

It makes more sense from both a cost and a functionality standpoint. When I build my own capkits, I make them universal to all board revisions. Even if I end up with some extras.

All SHVC-CPU-01s. Because if i'm going to be selling SNES or SFCs, it should be the best I can offer. Also they're the most common anyways.

On a more positive note, I am hard at work on prepping the next two SNES consoles for sale!

These will not have the SNEdge installed, and as a result will be $20 cheaper than the last batch.

That requires a whole other set of skills that most people don't have. If I actually knew anything about core development or PCB manufacturing, I would have already started working on it myself. But most of my engineering knowledge is very base level, but i'm always open to learn.

Most likely, but only with the same material it is made of.

True, but we can at least make sure that we mitigate the damage as much as possible. So when something like this can put extra stress on your system, it's best not to mess with it.

Because playing by that logic, don't dabble with electronics at all because any of them can brick for any reason.

Or just coming up with an interposer board to where we can just mount an FPGA inside 👀

Furrtek did just that. And the result was, Ricoh did not properly seal the ICs, leading to corrosion building up internally with ease.

Okay, I got more info from @voultar.com himself. Bare with me, this is going to be a thread.

To clarify with all this, I do not have any data that proves it can brick your PPU2. But their is currently an investigation going on, to figure out what about the SNEdge would cause this issue. But until that is concluded, I will still honor the repair, should the PPU2s brick on units I sold.

But Jeff, we need your dongles

24.02.2026 16:48 — 👍 4    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

I haven't found any concrete data on this. I might investigate this further myself, but for now I will have this free repair offer up just incase. If what is said is true (which I don't doubt their is truth in it), I can't risk selling any more pre-modded units with the SNEdge.

Yes, this is the open source one. Not the Edge Enhancer

It was something brought up during Voultar's latest stream, when the SNEdge was talked about. According to him, "It has the capability of pulling the Analog DAC of the PPU2 down and blowing it out." He even has a console with a SNEdge installed that blew out it's PPU2.
