Interesting! Cyberpunk, with the new age movement baked into the foundations. Maybe suffered a little from trying too hard to be transgressive, which isn't uncommon in 90s cyberpunk...

At some point I'll create a spreadsheet with every book's rough location recorded, so that I can find things quickly if I need to.

I had that set up in the last place I lived, but haven't bothered re-indexing since the last time I moved.

I can see the appeal of sensibly ordered shelves too, tho!

A wall entirely covered in book shelves apart from a hole for a window in the centre. The books are organised by colour, dark blues, purples and pinks at the top left, white and yellow at top right, orange, red and brown at bottom right, and light blues and greens at bottom left. There are also some carpeted shelves that stick out from the book shelves, to allow cats to climb to the window.

I shelve by colour.

Keeping physical books is a bit of an affectation - I want them to appeal to the eye.

If I sometimes need to stand in front of my bookshelves for minutes at a time searching for something, well, that's a feature, not a bug! 😁
