Seriously the FOMO I feel every GDQ because I am financially and physically unable to attend is so strong. It would be great if they had a.. satellite team based in Europe that could also run events that are more achievable for folks this side of the world

Honestly we really need a large speedrun event outside of the US. It's getting more and more dangerous for the average speedrunner to travel to GDQ and ESA is actively unsafe. Like the scope for international speedrunners getting to go to events is narrowing.

I want to see this guy win not just because it would be really fucking funny, but also because I think he would be genuinely good in Congress.

McDonald's Pulls Down AI-Generated Holiday Ad After Deluge of Mockery McDonald's Netherlands is catching flak for a stupefying AI-generated video, which was roundly condemned on social media.

It's truly wild to me that this just keeps happening. Coca-Cola runs an AI ad and people overwhelmingly react with disgust. They do it again, and people are disgusted again. Now McDonald's makes an AI ad that's so bad that so many people are furious about it they pull it down.

People hate AI slop!

Glad to see people talking about Penn Jillette. The 2024 interview was done by me. I found him to be a refreshingly reflective, self-critical individual who has remained curious and willing to evolve.

And because the extra year of Windows 10 support Microsoft made available still requires jumping through hoops lots of people are running Windows 10 unsupported.

Which means Microsoft has left who knows how many machines open to becoming malware bots or worse. Why?

For a hype bubble going nowhere.
