Nancy S. Kirkpatrick has been named dean of libraries for Smith College. Most recently serving as the dean of university libraries at Florida International University. She will join Smith in August. Sweet! Read more about it here:

Exciting news: a titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum) is going to flower at Lyman in the next few weeks!
The titan arum, AKA the corpse flower, is a sight to be seen. Its large size, putrid smell and short-lived nature makes it a flower like no other.
