Had to finally release this from my head

The image shows oversimplified and idealised wings. Great for some fantasy settings but the bone structure is totally awry.

This image focuses on the leading edge of the wing - the propatagium. It's a membrane that fills the gap between the wrist and shoulder, creating a nice aerodynamic shape.

Final image shows skeletal schematic of the flying vertebrates forelimb: the bat, the bird, the pterosaur. With a funny comparison to the human hand.

Sharing my wing tutorial for bluesky people!
It's light and focuses on propatagium, something that I often found missing when working on client designs.

If you're using AI to write essays, eulogies, a text to your wife, I do think less of you as a person. Ceding your mental and creative abilities to a machine is an embarrassing thing and people should be ashamed to admit doing it in public.

A lot of why I praised Micaiah can stem from a personal brush from said grossness in the fanbase. Way back when, she was torn apart for things that other protagonists got praised for.. Her image has since been rehabilitated, but... eugh. Felt gross saying I liked Fire Emblem back then.

Hot Take-

Been wanting to talk about this for a while.

The Old Guard of this fanbase has a nasty misogyny problem, mixed with other forms of bigotry. Not going to name names, but these issues prevent me from professing my love for this franchise very often. It can be very disheartening.

Fire Emblem Heroes-

The plotline interests me, but Gacha tends to be a hard pass for me. No exception here.

Most Overrated Female Character-

A hard one for different reasons.

Half-hearted here, but Mia? She keeps turning out bad for my friends. (Love her though)

Most Overrated Male Character-

I am gonna be flayed alive for this one.

It's Ephraim. I don't hate him, but it can be downright frustrating with how the narrative felt like it favored his route.

Again, I don't hate him. But it's a writing issue I have.

Portable or Console entries.

Both really, though this is a series that works well for both.

Reccomended Starting Entry-

Sacred Stones or Awakening. The former is the basis for many top tier ROM Hacks. The latter is the basis for many of the modern titles. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Favorite Chapter- Gods, this is hard.

But one that sticks with me is Chapter 10: Renewal, from Awakening. Very much a darkest hour, a bleak map where you feel the sting of your loss from the prior chapter. And you don't even get catharsis. The opposing force here are sympathetic. It hurts a lot.
