There is, I am unsure about posting as it includes their full address but it is publicly available on the voterrecords.com website

Well voter records seem to show that Charlie Kirk suspect Tyler Robinson was unaffiliated but his parents were registered Republicansโ€ฆ wonder how this plays into the โ€˜letโ€™s get revenge on Democratsโ€™ rhetoric?! ๐Ÿค”

There are far too many possibilities that remain open until the shooter is actually caught. I doubt it was a disgruntled liberal (or even a disillusioned MAGA who now feels scammed) though, it seems too professional, targeted and strategic to simply be someone who didnโ€™t like what Kirk was saying.

I donโ€™t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make whatโ€™s happening now look like childโ€™s play. And people are disappearing.

Remember the maths (math if youโ€™re American) of resistance.

3.5% of the population need to actively dissent to succeed

US population is 340 million so that is 11.9 million people.

With 2,000 #nokings protests planned, an average of 6,000 protesters per protest would achieve the numbers needed

Donโ€™t worry, the world seesโ€ฆ In fact, weโ€™re probably seeing a much clearer picture OUTSIDE the USโ€ฆ the images being shown in UK media all show this for what it is - an authoritarian regime turning the military on its own peopleโ€ฆ

Sorry, I didnโ€™t mean to imply you had said that. Just clarifying that he isnโ€™t being sued (which usually is resolved by a financial settlement
). It will of course be VERY interesting regardless

Hopefully much longer - June 13 is just the plea hearing. If he pleads guilty, he will likely be sentenced to 2+ years and if he pleads not guilty then they may keep him in until trial (which will be months away). Even if bailed, there will be strict conditions.

Settling out of court not an option

19.05.2025 14:01 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

No - itโ€™s a criminal prosecution so charges are being brought by the Crown Prosecution Service and not the victim (so he canโ€™t pay anyone off). They wanted to deal with it at the time but he left the UK and went back to the US to dodge the charges (but they were waiting for him to return)

19.05.2025 13:57 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Of course, like everyone Chris Brown deserves his day in court and it will be a jury that ultimately decides whether he is guilty or not (unless he pleads guilty himself)

All the outcry has made it clear how different the US and UK systems are. Money and fame wonโ€™t buy freedom here 11/

19.05.2025 10:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The victim canโ€™t โ€˜drop the chargesโ€™ or โ€˜settle out of courtโ€™. This isnโ€™t a civil matter, itโ€™s a criminal one. They have witnesses and CCTV evidence lined up. this isnโ€™t the victim vs CB, it is the CROWN vs. CB.

And the CPS ONLY bring cases if they have the receipts and think they can win 10/

19.05.2025 10:27 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

GBH with intent is a SERIOUS CHARGE - it is only just below attempted murder. If found guilty, he will most likely receive a prison sentence of 2+ years which he will need to serve IN THE UK. Once released he would then be deported to the US and likely not allowed back. 9/

19.05.2025 10:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

He wonโ€™t get โ€˜house arrestโ€™ or the opportunity to do his time in luxury in a hotel or similar, On remand he will treated like other prisoners (though they will likely watch him very closely as his high profile would make him an alluring target to other inmates) 8/

19.05.2025 10:21 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

At that hearing, a decision will be made on whether to remand him in custody again or grant him bail (likely with strict conditions)

The trial wonโ€™t start on June 13 either - but he might enter a plea to the charges. If he pleads guilty, the process will be quicker - a trial will be months away 6/

19.05.2025 10:18 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The reason the UK media is saying โ€˜allegedlyโ€™ in reports isnโ€™t them casting doubt on anything. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty - the allegedly will only be dropped if he is found guilty or pleads guilty

Next - June 13 is not his โ€˜release dateโ€™, that is the date of his next hearing 5/

19.05.2025 10:15 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Iโ€™ve seen people asking why they havenโ€™t seen the CCTV of the attack if it exists. This will not be released to the public until AFTER it is shown in court. in the UK, people are tried by the court system and not the media. Releasing it would prejudice his chance of a fair trial 4/

19.05.2025 10:14 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Thereโ€™s no โ€˜statute of limitationsโ€™ on crimes like this. If there is evidence you committed a crime, you can bet you will have to face it at some point if you return to the UK. Extradition from the US is a lengthy complex process so the UK just played the long game and waited for him to return 3/

19.05.2025 10:12 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Whether you get bail is up to the magistrate or judge and depends on whether you are deemed to be a danger or a flight risk. Given that CB was meant to face this back in 2023 but FLEW BACK TO THE US instead means they canโ€™t trust that he wonโ€™t leave the country again if they grant him bail 2/

19.05.2025 10:09 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Iโ€™ve seen SO MUCH confusion from Americans about the Chris Brown arrest and how the UK criminal justice system works. Iโ€™m not a lawyer but I was a court reporter for many years so letโ€™s clear some stuff up:

You canโ€™t pay your way out of prison here. Paying for bail isnโ€™t a thing like in the US 1/

OH COME ON!! I expected more from The Independentโ€ฆ

Chances are not โ€˜slimโ€™ that a thrice-married non-Catholic who has probably never even sat through an entire mass without falling asleep could be elected Pope.

This is insanityโ€ฆ I do like the very appropriate ad placement though

04.05.2025 12:24 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

And yet the right constantly claim it is โ€˜wokeโ€™ or โ€˜left-wingโ€™โ€ฆ

I think in their attempts to seem โ€˜impartialโ€™, they are making terrible editorial decisions. We need to stop sane-washing authoritarianism

Come on BBC, you can do better. Stop normalising this insanity. You cannot equate Trump sharing an image of HIMSELF as Pope to Biden making the sign of the cross at a pro-choice event. They are NOT THE SAME. If youโ€™re Catholic and also MAGA, now is the time to choose - you cannot be both

04.05.2025 10:59 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

No and definitely no.

But also Iโ€™d be shocked if any non-cardinal was ever elected Pope - it would make no sense at all.

Iโ€™m also pretty sure you canโ€™t juggle being the Pope with another job. Itโ€™s kind of a full-time thing ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

03.05.2025 13:56 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The fact he even wants to be Pope shows he is deep into dementiaโ€ฆ I canโ€™t imagine him enjoying it. Heโ€™d have to swap golf and Mar-a-Lago for celibacy, The Vatican, regular confessions and saying massโ€ฆ I doubt he could even recite the Lordโ€™s Prayer never mind the Apostleโ€™s Creed

03.05.2025 08:56 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

If this doesnโ€™t switch off his Catholic supporters, nothing willโ€ฆ

So now he admits borders are โ€œartificially drawn linesโ€, is he going to tell ICE to stand down? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

Thought notโ€ฆ

When people learnt about the Holocaust and the Second World War at school, most people imagined if they were there, they would have been part of the resistance and certainly not one of the perpetrators. In reality, the majority are bystanders - ignoring what is happening now is a deliberate choice
