it’s the last book in the series and it just. it gave me NOTHING. like where is the fucking plot literally what was going on. this book was a fever dream of waxing poetic and metaphysical nonsense and it drove me up the wall

and i can’t go to my one friend who’s read this series because like they unfortunately loved it 😭 so here i am just bitching to the void because i need to formulate my thoughts BUT I WANNA SHIT TALK IT WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE READ IT UGH like im so disappointed in this.

MY POINT IS like just give people slack man. chill outtttt. being online doesn’t mean you’re entitled to talk to someone 24/7 no matter how much you’d like to. and you shouldn’t be making people feel bad for being unable to keep up with your demands like they don’t have a life or other people

gave this 4 ⭐️… would read the next one KDKSKSKD like this was so poorly written but it was really fun and engaging at the same time and i’m hooked LMFAO

this btw. like the writing isn’t great and definitely juvenile and immature. the grammar sucks and the syntax is awkward, but the characters are funny and the story is kinda intriguing and the magic is lowkey unique and interesting so i’m hooked

sometimes you pick up a trashy book that isn’t really written well but it has the nostalgia of the stories you read on quizazz back in the day and it’s lowkey funny so now you’re eating it up and giggling

for a book that’s as much about life and its regrets and the infinite possibilities of how life could turn out based on infinitesimal decisions and choices, this book feels so lifeless and disconnected from its core. it feels like a soulless self-help book

i started reading the midnight library and i’m baffled because the writing style is nice and descriptive but it still isn’t gripping because there’s no connection with the MC. she has no personality beyond being told for dozens of pages how much her life sucks

YOU KNOW?? it’s such a weird and difficult to describe feeling. like i love the character and i am naturally rooting for him and he has struggled immensely throughout the book and has lost but not in a way that feels frustratingly SATISFYING you know like i WANNA be upset
