Yes, it’s a great podcast. And no, no plain sailing here! But, in the long run, it’s probably better that way.

Author of Malamander, and the Eerie-on-Sea Mysteries. Secret new book on the way…

26.05.2025 09:45 — 👍 1 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0This was was glorious. A heart-filled pistol-flash of an adventure, filled with daring deeds, odious villains, and amazing hats. A wronged girl with her vengeful wolf meets an outlaw boy with a stallion only he can ride? Yes please! Thank you @fireflypress.bsky.social and @pennychrimes.bsky.social

23.05.2025 20:29 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I had to disguise some boxed-in wiring in my new bookshelves. Eagle-eyed readers of my Eerie-on-Series might spot how I did that…😉✨
23.05.2025 20:21 — 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Hello, Lukas. I’m glad you and your children are enjoying the stories. Sadly, at least for the moment, Hanser doesn’t plan to publish the last two books. But fingers crossed they might change their mind one day.

27.04.2025 19:47 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Well, that was wonderful. My slow read thru of Joan Aiken’s brilliant ‘Wolves Chronicles’ has reached Book 3: ‘Nightbirds on Nantucket’. And now I know why Dido Twite is such a beloved character. A joy to read, and perfectly illustrated by Pat Marriott in these Jonathan Cape editions.

Just wanted to share this with you! Since reading the fabulous Malamander to my Year 6 class, so many of them have got hold of their own copies of Gargantis! I count 9 copies and 3 Shadowghasts! I've got boys reading it in their lunch break! Thank you!! 😀🤜🤛
Yay! That’s brilliant to hear. Please send those readers eeriest best wishes from me😎🧜🏻✨

It was wonderful to hear Berlie’s thoughts on the changes she’s seen in publishing. Makes me want to travel back and be a writer in the 80s!

14.03.2025 09:41 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It’s wonderful, but super twisty plot wise and full of references to other things that it really helps to know already. It’s a book that comes with homework.
