A young fledgeling from outside arrived in Nest 2 last night. Looked extremely tired and after a brief tussle, the nest accepted them in.

Does bring some tears, like a "What If" of the youngest sibling still being around🥹

And following the end of the coldwave, the clutch is now a quartet!

Welcome #4! Barely an hour old, but is already pushing it to be in the front for feeding, very strong 💪

I was genuinely scared the past 2 days due to the extreme cold wave, fearing a repeat of the youngest owlet of nest 2 who tried so hard to hold onto life.

Dad seemed aware yesterday was dire and came early with 2 emergency prey drops, then a full rabbit, and followed up with 2 more prey. Incredible

3rd owlet arrived late yesterday!

Oldest one is already so large, and it likes to hug everything around. It's nice to see them bunched up together.

It's been cold, so mom is keeping them carefully under herself without almost any breaks, so her stretch flight was the only time we got to see them

Her second owlet has been born today! I was too busy at work that I missed it sadly, but I'm so happy for mom (and dad) who went through so much, yet kept their trust in each other to make it work! 🥹

2 more hatches to go, and then it's all about taking care of them!

A long and arduous journey for mom is finally coming to fruition!

First of her 4 eggs hatched almost 3 days into the hatch window and the nest is filled with happy chirps 🦉🥳

Little one is gone. I feel sick...

Kept going day after day, survived beyond what anyone expected despite all cards stacked against it. But the best isn't always enough.

Safely made it to the night, was a bit more active/reactive during the day compared to yesterday. Constantly hugging the oldest owlet, who seems to be more gentle in general as well.

I'll hope for the best that he can beat the odds, it's been soulcrushing as is 😔🙏

I've been focusing on Nest 1 because Nest 2 was looking grim after 3 days of a cold front, affecting tonight as well.

Everyone had already written off the little guy, but he made it through tonight as well, getting some nibbles.

He likely won't make it through the day. I feel crushed. Valiant...

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for the hunting conditions to get better. And dad will especially have to step up when the hatchlings start coming through the cracks!

Both nests feeling the effects of the prey shortage atm. Rain and weather that hasn't quite shaken off the cold wave is making things a bit tight...

Dad brought 2 prey for mom early night, but towards the morning after a long rain, unable to hunt, he had to take the second one away for himself 😔

Oof, what a rough night... Cold and foggy, terrible conditions for hunting. Nest 2 with 4 hatchlings also had a severe prey shortage. Dad wasn't generally in the mood either.

He still came in with a clutch, half an hour before sun up, with another large prey for mom. She's comfy & resting now!

The less I have to say, the better it is, the duo are properly in breeding cycle so everything is running smoothly!

It seems dad didn't have a favorable night with his hunting given his overall behavior, but still prioritized giving prey to mom her minimum of 2 per night!

Early night and the 3rd egg has arrived 🥚🥚🥚🦉

🥳 Congratulations to mom and dad once more! Their first attempt was left at 3 eggs. Let's see if a 4th (or 5th) happen in a couple days as well!

Last year, they raised a full fledge of 5!

So, Drizzlewood Coast... Beautiful, but overwhelming. I don't know whether it's the constant Meta or the WvW style map (probably both), but it stresses me out, leaving me at a constant feel of urgency...

Last I felt this was Dragon's Stand, which I ended up not doing the Mastery for 😭

All the effort went into designing obviously and not much was left to check tweet text.

Nice and comfy night for floofy mom. Was a bit curious by the firework sounds at midnight, but is ready for Egg#3 if it is due for today.

Dad was kind enough to bring a rabbit as a feast for her, so definitely satisfied and sleeping comfortably now.

Dad was very considerate tonight, even though most of the time mom thought he was trying to steal the gifts left behind... It seemed like he was trying to bring them closer to mom and cache them next to the eggs for her convenience.

Also lots of floofball sleep mode.
