Before I started my current job, I was worried because, while I have nieces & a nephew, I had never dealt with that many kids before. It was to be a new experience for me. And you know what I learned after being at this job for years now? Kids are actually wonderful, and enrich human experience.

I also don't understand why these assholes are offended by kids just existing. You want the children to behave in society? Then you introduce them to society. Which involves them coming to restaurants and public events. Simple as that.
