Growing up in Chester, I have many fond memories, one of which was taking sailing lessons every summer at the Chester Yacht Club. I've viewed the front Harbour in my youth a million times and never grew tired of it.

Growing up on the south shore of Nova Scotia, I was always surrounded with an abundance of natural beauty. Every year for a couple weeks in the fall, the foliage around Peggy's Cove turns an almost unnatural vibrant ruby red.

I took a photograph of this sky last summer and knew I had to paint it. This is a work in progress and is 12x9 on regular Beechwood Panel. Alot of dark values and light values back and forth, hope to have it finished by tomorrow night.

The 14x14 is starting to come together. More work on the golden light hitting the landscape, starting work on refining the water and reflections in the water and adding more detail to the water grasses on the bottom of the composition.Still a work in progress.

Finally feeling the energy to paint in the studio again.
More work on the 14x14, still working on the light and darks and refining the values, starting to work on the water and reflections too, also adding light to the trees, this is far from completed.
