How wonderful to be greeted by this as soon as I put my hearing aids in! I just had to go outside and soak it up.

Iβve been noble and been to the gym this morning. Havenβt been for a while (unexpected break in Norfolk, then ill with a bug) so it was hard work. What made it worse is that it feels cold and raw outside, a real shock to the system.
Iβd rather be tucked up in a blanket, like #Kinsey was earlier.
Ah, the memories.

Yes, but unfortunately I have nearly 76 years to trawl back through! Itβs at the same time frustrating and wonderful to know why I do the things I do!
Oh, that is interesting about Graeme. Do you know the book title?
It was my sonsβ diagnoses that caused me to wonder about myself. Then it all kinda clicked into place. My diagnosis is actually ADHD with Autism - I believe itβs called AuDHD - and Iβm busy reading up on that now!
It all explains so much. π’
Hope you get a diagnosis soon.

A back garden in Sussex, England, still dark before the sun rises properly, but with Winter silhouettes of bare-branched mature Oak and Ash trees, the clear sky of dawn already blue above the trees. Thereβs a glow down low through the trees as the sun, thought not visible, causes the sky to turn pink.
Spring is coming. The view from my window is different now the rising sun is further in the East. Our Blackbird is greeting each morning with song, and again in the evening, reaffirming his right to his territory. Our Blue Tits spend hours at the nest box, the precursor to nesting.
Begone, Winter.
π Drat, I wish Iβd known you were suffering. I could have suggested breaks, for relief. I had a similar reaction when I first got mine, thought I just didnβt cope well. Last weekβs ADHD diagnosis explains a lot.
When my aids were new Iβd need quiet breaks from the cacophony suddenly in my head.
Nope! Itβs actually Sandringham, in Norfolk. Was up there a couple of weeks ago for the Pink-footed Geese. It rained a LOT, but the sight and sound of thousands of geese in the fields and overhead made it worthwhile.

Mixed species of trees are the other side of the wall and there is a grass verge this side, by the road. Sandringham is a country retreat for the reigning monarch, currently King Charles lll.
I like walls. I love the textures, the different materials used, the patterns and the symmetry.
This wall pleased me immensely.
I know where it is. Do you?

What a pity there werenβt a few buggies, wheelchairs, etc., to block him/her in.
I thought parking on the pavement was illegal if it causes an unnecessary obstruction? Hopefully this vehicle has been reported.
Thank you, thatβs sensible advice.

Well. Still getting my head around todayβs diagnosis of ADHD, with a side serving of Autism.
It explains a lot. I know 75 is late in life to find out but I feel a certain vindication, whilst also feeling a sense of grief for the person I might have been.
Itβs a lot to take in.

I missed #NationalSnowdropDay yesterday, but hereβs a glimpse of a woodland scene in Norfolk last week, a carpet of mixed Snowdrops and Winter Aconite in dappled sunlight.

Iβve managed to avoid the book and have no desire whatsoever to watch a screen version. I cannot comprehend how my life would be any better for watching it.

Itβs my go-to spot looking for
mislaid things! Glad youβre reunited. π
Worth putting some kind of tag on your case? Or try to designate a specific location and get used to only putting your case there? Just a thought. But - Iβm a great one for mislaying things so a fine one to talk!
Weβre ticking over okay, thanks, despite a few new health issues on both sides. π€·πΌ
Isnβt it wonderful when birds are audible again? So sorry you need aids but hopefully youβll get used to them quickly. My current aids Bluetooth-connect to my iPhone and itβs amazing listening to music or audiobooks directly into my ears.
Tip: until you get used to battery life, keep some handy.

Had a day-long drive yesterday. Of necessity there were occasional stops for comfort breaks, but Kinsey spent most of the drive asleep.

Winter can seem so grey, with little colour to alleviate the gloom. Even in January, though, there can be warmth in the little colour still tenaciously holding on in the woodlands.

A mature Oak tree standing alone in a field in the Low Weald of East Sussex. Itβs January and the tree is bare of leaves, though the evergreen Ivy climbing its trunk is green. The prevailing South Westerly wind has shaped the tree during its life but it is sturdy and copes with all weather. The sky is sombre grey, little detail in the cloud save a few paler areas of thinner cloud. In the far distance the horizon rises a little, and hazy in the overcast afternoon light.

There is an Oak tree I love near a main road in East Sussex. Itβs on a border between two fields, with no public access nearby. Just recently the hedgerows have been cut, allowing a clearer view of the tree.
Today I captured it, skeletal against a lowering sky, ivy-clad and beautiful.

Making the most of some recent winter light on the South Downs. These three photos show the rolling hills never disappoint when the sun eventually comes out.

Deep pink sky with light from the out-of-view rising sun reflecting off clouds and turning them pale purple and pink. All this with mature oak and ash trees, bare of leaves and branches and silhouetted against the Winter dawn sky.

Merry Christmas everyone. Itβs a clear, cold start to the day. Kinsey decided to spend some of the night on my bed but she was shivering so I covered her with a blanket and she buried herself under it. Only surfaced just now. π
