Very much this on the grief but specifically the confidence.

There’s something very…”fuck you” about loss/grief. The loss of a person comes with the loss of the fucks you have left to give, for better or for worse.

I relate to this so so much. My biggest fear was always my mom passing away because I felt like it would crush me. But the closer she got to death, I let go of that fear and live life based on the things she taught me.

She’s right. Losing a parent makes you realize it can’t really get any worse (outside of losing a child). Grief changes you into a person that you never knew you had the capability of being.

I lost my father in 2016 and a part of me died with him that I’ll never be able to go back to
