We had three incredible cycles. Even two of the authors (Dr. Daniel Black and Aaron Foley) visited our book club, interacted with our group, and allowed me to interview them.

When Gloria came on the scene as Michael and Kevin’s mom, it was mentioned they were from Detroit. Which made me laugh because Gloria 100% gives Downriver. Phyllis and Adam also randomly mentioned a house being torn down in Detroit because IIRC something from Jabot got sent to the wrong address.

Last week when Elon was talking about Thanksgiving plans with Jacob in the police station, he mentioned the third Hawthorne brother working for the Detroit Police Department. Which reminds me, Y&R also has an in-universe Detroit connection #beyondthegates

I became an author on this date 10 years ago with my first book, “How to Live in Detroit Without Being a Jackass,” which put me on a trajectory I never could have imagined. Still got a lot more to say but the original message is still relevant — something else I couldn’t have predicted 10 years ago.
