Corporations cannot keep pretending they didn’t know the risks. They were warned repeatedly. They saw the consequences the first time. Yet many still chose profit and influence over caution.

It is absolutely insane that the US appears to have targeted desalination plants first – putting them onto the board. Iran seems to have already retaliated against one in Bahrain. This is one of the most obvious ways this could spiral.

This confirmation that Energy Sec Chris Wright was boasting that IRAN was able to get a tanker thru the Strait raises an interesting possibility: That China resume shipping oil, but no one else can.
