Really excited to be presenting my paper, “From Camera’s Eye to Image Networks: Rethinking Art Cinema in Japan”, at Kinema Club XXIII, hosted at Nippon Connection 2025 in Frankfurt (May 28–June 1).

While I have opted not to travel to Chicago on this occasion, an eponymous article will be published in Modern Chinese Literature and Culture later this year.

My paper titled “Hou Hsiao-Hsien’s New Millennial Departure from Language” has been accepted for SCMS2025, along with the award of an Official Travel Grant, for which I’m very grateful.
