And I agree with the taking a toll on your body. My dad was a carpenter all his life, and I saw what it did to him. I drive a truck and that’s not any better lol.

Exactly. Same for mine, but only partly. Main level was *mostly* gutted and remodeled. A few walls were left plaster & lath, and they just covered original hardwood with vinyl then carpet. Upper level with the bedrooms was mostly untouched but don’t worry, they wrecked the hardwood.

My first house was 120 years old. Every project took a turn like this. The plaster and lath were miserable.
