1. I got an email with "RE:" in the subject line (like this wasn't his first email).
2. I tried to remember who this sender could be.
3. I realized I didn't have any previous interaction with this person.

And then everybody hates marketers. And have all the reasons to do this.

How to find the best marketing/growth channels for startups?

1. Double down on what already works.
2. Do customer research.
3. Is this a self-serve product or sales involved?
4. Study competitors.
5. Prioritize channels based on your budget and resources (what you're good at).
6. Launch. Test.
