I couldn't find a great way to interpolate between two SVG line graphs with DaVinci Resolve. So, like a normal person, I spent two days writing a C++ program that uses SVGs and FFMPEG to create a ProRes video that interpolates between two datasets over x number of frames.

Very mild improvements, but it's still sounding good.
I'm gonna try a few more things to improve the sound, then I'll be able to actually start making the video on this project lol

I PROMISE this video actually has a point!
Side note: This video was entirely cut, edited, rendered and encoded in Minecraft, so that's cool!

Also, obligatory note: the audio was added in post. Still working on a good noteblock solution. It turns out, audio engineering is complicated for cavemen like myself.

BlockCut Export - Google Drive
This site's video compression might blow this video to hell, so I uploaded the MP4 and the first 100 frames to a public Google Drive folder:

Exporting is looking good!
The original video was 1920x1080px. That was converted into 256x144px frames for the in-game display. When exporting, each pixel of each frame is replaced with the corresponding block's texture, resulting in this 4096x2304px monstrosity.
Beautiful.

What a beautiful spot... for some editing!
I ported over to Fabric, so I guess I'm a real modder now.

Decided to try drawing directly onto the maps. Could be promising. This is attempting to do 20fps, but the maps take like 2 ticks to update, so I'm really getting something like 6 to 7 fps.
However, it just might be cunty enough to work.

Let's see what I can do with this.

It is possible, but only barely, which is good enough for me. The most I could manage was 2 fps.
This is after I dropped the video's resolution to 270x480, and dropped its frame rate to 20fps. I'm also using keyframing instead of drawing a completely new image each frame.

In theory, this is what a video made with map art would look like. I love it.
