I particularly enjoy how Crossman reconstructs the passage of time and presents this. I normally like to read a book over a few days but I could not part with this novel. (3/5)

Crossman’s writing bursts with vivid imagery and lyrical prose. Introspection drives this story and, like all great writers, Crossman creates a relationship with the reader which allows them to analyse and question their own life choices in response to the protagonist’s tale. (2/5)

Stephen does an excellent job of constantly pushing and evolving Beth and Naomi. Their dynamic is enjoyable to read. (6/7)

Naomi and Beth have clear, strong and distinct voices throughout. In a novel which engages with challenging questions regarding bodily autonomy and the process of creating and carrying a child, the voices of Beth and Naomi are vital and necessary. (5/7)

A central question within this novel is: can they successfully subvert Kai’s ambitions and help create a more equal and transparent world? Stephen has successfully written a multiplicity of compelling and recognisable voices, with the character Tam being my personal favourite. (4/7)

In the hope of creating an equal world, protagonists Beth and Naomi who are part of the activist group -Resist and Regain- uncover the atrocities and restrictions which current citizens experience under the leader, Kai. (3/7)

We Are Not Anonymous highlights the ongoing threat that technology imposes on our everyday lives while simultaneously reminding the reader how important our own, individual human power is. (2/7)

Rozie has created an array of wonderfully flawed and complicated characters which constantly challenge the reader to assess their own morality. The way that varying forms of sadness are presented and handled throughout the novel is incredibly moving and raw. (3/6)

The novel delicately portrays the complexities of grief. Rozie Kelly writes with such care and honesty. There are many moving and poignant observations of everyday life. I particularly enjoyed the exploration of age within relationships. (2/6)
