My grandfather’s family found their way to Sydney, Australia. Both of them emigrated to San Francisco in the 1920’s and 30’s, where my Scots-Irish dad was born and raised. Go Niners!

During this mass starvation of the Irish people by Britain who was forcibly occupying their land, over a million people emigrated in hopes of finding somewhere to live where they could eat and not watch their children die for lack of food.
My grandmother’s family found a new home in Dunedin NZ.

The Famine is of course code for the mass starvation of the Irish by the British when at least a million Irish died of starvation because they were only allowed to eat potatoes but there was a blight, the potatoes were all bad. There was a simultaneous huge export of food to England as Irish died.

My mother’s family came from Ireland 🇮🇪, France 🇫🇷 , Germany 🇩🇪. My 4X great grandfather was a Union General in the Civil War 🇺🇸, they named Reno, Nevada after him. We won, the South lost (someone should tell them…).
My father is a first gen American. His family left Ireland during “the Potato Famine”.

Anyone and everyone with any shred of decency who also has political power needs to be putting their foot down, NOW! These so called ICE agents need to be held accountable for the crimes/human rights violations they are committing.

So many people truly believe, whether for money, religion, or ignorance, that they will be saved from any suffering. Blows my mind on a regular basis.

My new studio space is such a joy! It’s still a huge mess of boxes and piles, still not really making anything, but very excited with all the possibilities ahead. I finally have a space that is not only big enough, but also where I can be loud and messy (yay for power tools!). 🧡
